It’s just that you haven’t been diagnosed yet.
I can just hear you saying, but Chris! Who are you to tell me that I am dying? Oh, come on, you already knew that! We all are. Sure, it’s the aging process, and that’s just the way it goes.
Unless you are diagnosed. Then it’s different. Very different.
Here’s a little frittalaria to enjoy (it’s the only flower with a built in checkerboard!) while you entertain the thought.
Here’s what happens. Laaa deee daaaa, we are in the middle of doing our Life thing, whatever that entails: putting out fires, caring for others, getting the groceries, and washing the car. Then WHOOP WHOOP here comes a doctor who says we are terminal. Doesn’t matter with what. This is the next person below God who knows EVERYTHING and they are telling us that we have not-so-much Life left. Whoa, WHAT?
SURPRISE! Someone has given us a boundary, and it’s time to SHIFT.
Yup, it’s time to make decisions on all the things the body has been asking for, for, oh, YEARS. Good food, I mean really good food. Those would be green, orange, purple things that have been growing in the ground. Time to walk away from ALL sugar, gluten, stressors, and walk into green things to eat and drink, joy and exercize.
Can you do it? Sure you can. Alleviating sugar? Yes, that’s hard. Gluten? Even harder! Stressors? People and things in our life which no longer need to be in our life? Yes, you can find a way to pull yourself back from anyone and anything that makes you cringe. (Okay, I get it, sugar and gluten make you salivate…but really your gut is cringing!)
Making your own choices means that EVERYTHING CHANGES. The shifts turn into gifts, commitments turn into strength, and we see what is real. This is a VERY GOOD thing. Why? Because on so many levels, in so many ways, we heal.
But not until someone “sells” us on the fact that it’s time to pay attention. To what? Just three things. To our bodies (our only major tool to live this life), to our minds (helpful for the logic of life, but not to be trusted with important things) and our hearts (very trustworthy). Only then do we begin to really Live and do it consciously. If you are one of the few reading this who have not been diagnosed, perhaps you will believe me when I say, You Are Dying.
Now, you can LIVE for a long time, and never get ANY diagnosis!
